Building Independent Learners

Growing Capable Kids

Transforming a child into an independent learner requires a village. This premier speaker series unites parents, educators, and youth professionals to share proven, actionable strategies. Together, we will empower children and adolescents to take ownership of their education, build resilience, and thrive on their own.

Cami Slater, Presenter

Cami Slater, EdS, MEd, is a Certified School Counselor and Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern specializing in helping children, teens, and parents navigate emotions, challenging behaviors, anxiety, trauma, OCD, neurodivergence, and life transitions. Her work is grounded in child-centered, trauma-informed care and the belief that felt safety is the foundation for healing.

Cami holds graduate degrees in Counseling from the University of Florida and has more than a decade of experience across schools, counseling settings, higher education, and disability services.
